My philosophy for education is one that celebrates diversity and a growth mindset. My hope is that each student who walks into my classroom will think of themself as a scientist who will apply the lessons they learn to the world around them to make their own discoveries.”

Felisha’s Story

Teaching Discipline

Why Biology

“When I was in middle school, I had a teacher who made science fun. It is because of him that I knew I wanted to pursue a career in science.”

Professional Experience

For more than eight years, Felisha worked as a medical laboratory scientist at the Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas at Austin. In this role, she worked in the transfusion service area of the laboratory, providing quality testing of patient samples in order to select the best possible blood donor units for transfusion. Felisha also worked as an administrative assistant at Texas State University for two years.

She will begin her first year of teaching at East View High School during the 2021–2022 school year.

Volunteer Experience
