One of the key values I want to impart on my students is that each and every one of them is a scientist, who is fully capable of ‘doing science.’ I want every student to feel that they have a science identity, which is something that I didn’t feel throughout my own high school experience.”
Sesha’s Story
Teaching Discipline
Biology
Why Biology
“In my senior year of high school, I took an incredible biotechnology class that allowed me to delve into science in a meaningful way. Even today, I remember the activities we did, everything from extracting strawberry DNA to learning how to 3D print. This drew my interest back toward biology. My human biology core classes at Stanford covered a broad array of biology concepts that confirmed my interest in teaching biology.”
