I wanted to be a teacher because of three main reasons: I love kids, I love math, and I love teaching.”
Timothy’s Story
Timothy Ciampa gravitated towards mathematics at an early age. He enjoyed mathematics throughout high school and college not just for the challenge that it presents, but also because of its relation to the world. “You cannot go through the day without using or coming in contact with math.” Through his field experiences, Timothy was able to observe unique relationships that teachers build with their students. He looks forward to using mathematics as a way to teach students how to problem solve.
Timothy graduated from Maple Hill High School in Castleton, N.Y., and earned a BS in mathematics education from State University of New York at Potsdam. An avid sportsman, Timothy plays soccer, basketball and baseball and is a member of College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District soccer team.
